Whitney Hall School educates students, Kindergarten-12, who live in the community, but are challenged with behavioral, psychiatric & learning difficulties requiring a small classroom setting. Students are referred to the program by their local school systems. The purpose of the program is to help students obtain skills & learning strategies to manage their own behaviors so they can return to a public school setting.
The employee in this position will be responsible for teaching students in the Whitney Hall School program in a special education environment. The employee will be accountable to the Principal and the Administrator of Educational Programs. The employee will work with the entire Children’s Center staff regularly. The employee will be expected to perform other related duties as assigned.
Schedule:
School Schedule, Plus Extended School Year Summer Schedule
Days Off: Saturday / Sunday

Requirements:
- CT Certified Special Education Credential #165.
- Good Interpersonal & Behavior Management Skills.
- One to two years teaching or related experience desired.
*Please be advised that this position requires working with High School students with Conduct disorder. Salary range is $47,236-$58,113, commensurate with experience/education.
