Whitney Hall School educates students, Kindergarten-12+, who live in the community, but are challenged with behavioral, psychiatric & learning difficulties requiring a small classroom setting. Students are referred to the program by their local school systems. The purpose of the program is to help students obtain skills & learning strategies to manage their own behaviors so they can return to a public school setting. The employee in this position will be responsible for teaching vocational lessons and coordinating student work placements in the community for students in the Whitney Hall School Special Education program.

Schedule:
School Schedule, Plus Extended School Year Summer Schedule
Days Off:  Saturday / Sunday

Requirements:

  • CT Certified Special Education Credential #165 or Business Education Credential #010
  • Good Interpersonal & Behavior Management Skills.
  • One to two years teaching or related experience desired.
  •  Must be eligible for and obtain required Public Service endorsement “A” for transporting students as defined by state legislation.
