New Choices at Wakeman Hall provides substance abuse residential treatment for 12 to 16-year-old teenagers who present with chemical dependency problems and are involved with the Connecticut Juvenile Courts. The program is coed. Length of stay is individualized from 28-49 days. Treatment services include individual, group, family therapy, multi-family therapy and a trauma sensitive therapeutic milieu. The program also provides exposure to the 12-step recovery principles. A state accredited school is on grounds so youth can continue their academic education while in treatment. Case management services are provided from the point of admission in order to identify follow-up and aftercare in the community. All guardians are expected to create, with us, crisis plans to ensure safety at all times.
