The Clinical Therapist will be responsible for clinical services & general case management within the context of a treatment team for youth & families served by The Children’s Center of Hamden. The START Program is an intensive 24-hour Psychiatric Residential Treatment Program servicing male youth, ages 7-16 years of age.  Treatment is overseen by a psychiatrist and is more structured than traditional residential treatment, while still offering an open setting with regular access to the community.

Schedule and Days off: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (* Hours have some flexibility to meet the needs of our clients). Saturday and Sundays off.

Requirements:

  • Clinical experience working with youth, adolescents & families.
  • Must be a Masters level clinician (MSWs must have received LMSW license) with license eligibility.
  • Bi-lingual in English/Spanish preferred.
  • Valid CT driver’s license.

Experience: Two years of clinical experience working with youth, adolescents and families. Training in child psychopathology and developmental psychology.

Qualifications:

  • Experience providing trauma sensitive treatment.
  • Good verbal & written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well independently within a treatment team philosophy.
