CHILD CARE WORKERS/COUNSELORS

Job Description:   Our clients ages vary from 8 – 18 and are referred to the agency for a variety of reasons which may include emotional, behavioral problems, substance abuse, and/or family problems resulting in an out-of-home placement. We are a co-ed facility. Our Child Care staff work directly with our clients supervising them in their daily activities both on and off grounds. They will maintain the safety of the unit and plan and coordinate activities for the children. Transportation of clients is also a responsibility; a valid driving license with safe record is also needed. Staff, administer medication, supervise and perform housekeeping duties and teach children daily living skills. The Child Care staff will monitor the behavior management system, participate in groups and meetings, and keep progress notes and related records for the clients. Child Care staff must function as a positive role model for the children. Experience working with children/adolescents is essential. Qualified candidates must be able to positively lead our clients with excellent behavior management and interpersonal skills. A Bachelor’s degree in a Human Service area is also desired, although we will consider candidates with related work experience, and appropriate skills. Candidates for our Substance Abuse Treatment unit should also possess work experience in a treatment setting. Our residential programs run three shifts, with most openings generally occurring on the second or third shift. Weekend hours, as well as some overtime hours are required. Child Care staff are a part of our treatment team.
